Nia Centre
Based in Toronto’s historic Little Jamaica neighborhood, Nia Centre for the Arts is a community based organization committed to supporting emerging Black artists of all disciplines and showcasing the rich tapestry of Canada’s African diaspora.

With the opening of their inaugural space, Nia Centre came to us looking for a brand that could both stand tall among a sea of legacy art institutions and represent their mission of inviting in the Canadian African community with open arms.

The Nia Centre’s rising sun logo is a symbol of optimism and belief in tomorrow. It also creates a graphic structure that frames and celebrates their artists, representing a place to finally call home.

A simplified, swiss-international inspired type system introduces order and allows us to speak the visual language of art institutions. While the inclusion of PP Neue Montreal pays homage to our Canadian roots. Brought together by our bold use of black, white, and a golden yellow that echoes the warmth of our rising sun logo, Nia Centre speaks proudly, loudly, and without apology.
